The SC/ST Cell at Ramesh Jha Mahila College is established in accordance with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to safeguard and promote the interests of students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. The Cell ensures that every eligible student receives the benefits, scholarships, and support they are entitled to under national and state government schemes.
The Cell actively works to create an inclusive campus environment by addressing grievances, facilitating reservations, guiding students through scholarship processes, and organising awareness programmes. Our commitment is to ensure equal access and opportunity for every student, irrespective of their social background.
Assisting SC/ST students in applying for and receiving state and central government scholarships, fee waivers, and financial aid programmes.
Providing a dedicated channel for SC/ST students to register complaints related to discrimination, harassment, or denial of rights within the institution.
Organising seminars, workshops, and awareness drives on constitutional rights, reservation policies, and opportunities available to SC/ST communities.
Fostering a discrimination-free environment where every SC/ST student can participate fully in academic, co-curricular, and social activities.

Ensuring proper implementation of reservation policies in admissions, examinations, and other college activities as per government norms.
Guiding students to avail scholarships, fee concessions, and hostel facilities provided by the state and central government for SC/ST students.
Providing personal counselling and mentoring services to SC/ST students to help them overcome academic, social, or emotional challenges.
Actively monitoring the campus to prevent any form of caste-based discrimination and taking prompt action against any reported incidents.
Organising career guidance programmes and connecting SC/ST students with government employment schemes and competitive examination coaching.
Maintaining records and submitting required reports to UGC and other regulatory bodies regarding welfare activities for SC/ST students.
